Scorpion Ghosts

The kind of cross-section animation I used in previous post can also be used to integrate more realistic 3D objects such as these scorpions in a real-world scene.

I made a cross-section animation of a scorpion (see bottom) and played it on my mobile as I swept it several times during a long exposure.

Nothing beats the satisfaction of seeing the virtual world merged with the real world on the back of my camera with no post-trickery other than controlling what light hits a sensor and when.
