A short while ago in a galaxy close by

Back in the beginning of 2020 my mother made me a quilt to my specifications that I proudly use as a cover to a cabinet/sofa that I made in my studio (see bottom). It was always my intention to use it in my light painting shenanigans.

The following photos were taken with the Ricoh Theta Z1 (a 360 camera) rotating on a motorized rotating pole that I made while I manually move it in steady patterns. On most of these photos I also move a strobing light with my free hand to capture different parts of the quilt as the camera rotates, The title is a reference to the fact that in photography we don't need to go far to create our own universe and also it's obviously a Star Wars pun.
